Your website, what has it done for you lately?

Believe me, I’m not website expert (our techs are, but I’m not!)… Our site is an ever-changing entity.

I’m not embarrassed to say that we have gone through 4 completely different sites in 2 years!

But, I know that we are good at what we do, which is video production for small-to-medium sized businesses & their websites, live-event coverage for the entertainment industry, and audio recording for bands, video game producers and private industry.

Yet,

…it seems that every few months, I take another look at our site and decide that we need a new vision… It can be a frustrating experience for me and our designers (to say the least), and you might also find yourself in this situation.

If you do, don’t sweat it – the beauty of the internet is that it is always changing, …a liquid being that constantly re-invents itself and its rules of engagemnet. If your site is not ‘optimized’ today, then you can re-arrange it and re-post it. If you have done your homework properly, you might see the results of this change in just a few days. If you are not happy with those results, change it up again, the page text, the meta-description, the page title, etc – all these things do make a difference.

If the term ‘Search Engine Optimization’ is not something you are seriously thinking about, then you might want to re-evaluate your thinking…

Business owners – REMEMBER THIS: Your website should be your best salesperson, and if its not, …fire it (take it down), and hire (design) a website that will be your best salesperson. Simple as that…

Imagine hiring a sales rep that does not ever take a minute off, never complains, never calls in sick, is always towing the company line, (potentially) speaks every language on earth, and never promises more than you can provide (a typical salesperson trick to solicit work, which inevitably backfires in everyones face, right?),

…what would that salesperson be worth to your organization?

We truly believe that the days of old, huge, clumsy website are over.  People are not interested in pouring over copious amounts of information to find the one small nugget they are looking for.

Offer your visitors a clean, easy-to-navigate site that is very specific in its message.

Truthfully, most sites are crazy boring!

Figure out what your site is all about, then only make it that…
